We have been celebrating our New Years’ dinners with Puddings Matter for the last five years. It is truly a highlight of the evening when we pull the pudding out and light the New Year’s flame and make our wishes. The texture and flavors are wonderful and finish our celebrations beautifully!
Read MoreHad a delicious Christmas pudding from Michele and The Art of Pudding. As a Brit, I know a good Christmas pud is pretty hard to make – most end up, dry or flavourless or relatively tame. The Art of Pudding’s King George product is none of these (and super easy to prepare). They recommended soaking it for some time (hours? days? weeks?) in your favourite alcohol before heating. I used inexpensive brandy and it was delicious. It’s probably not necessary as the pud is already moist and flavourful to begin with. Marinating certainly adds to the drama and authenticity and it lets you lay claim to some personal involvement. Looking forward to more traditional British steam puddings – bring on the Jam Roly-Poly, Spotted Dick, Sticky Toffee, Treacle,...

Read MoreI purchased two Christmas puddings from “the Art of Pudding,” having never tasted a true English Christmas pudding before. We were in for a great surprise. The puddings arrived right on time, and I followed the instructions to pour my choice of liquors over the pudding to keep it fresh and moist before Christmas. On Christmas day, I followed the simple instructions to boil my pudding, and served it with one of the sauces recommended. The entire family was delighted with the rich, moist, fruity dessert. It was a lovely end to our traditional Christmas dinner, and one that we will enjoy...

Read MoreLast Christmas I was able to bring to the table something I loved as a child , my kids remembered slightly and was totally new to the new members of my family – a real English Christmas pudding!! With practically zero work (although just having it around for a few days made me think I was doing all the prep work like my grandmother) we recreated Christmas of old. After the turkey was done and the table clear, we turned down the lights, poured the brandy and lit it up! The young ones were amazed and those who had never seen it before couldn’t wait to taste it. It was delicious and sparked conversations of Christmases past. It was a terrific success and we will for sure want to make it one of our family...
